Hidden in the mean streets of Palos Verdes, the name tells all. Getting deeper and hotter by the second it becomes more of a rescue operation than a "fun activity". Oh and did I fail to mention that the tunnel leads straight under a cemetery !? Crazy . . .
Terra Toes . . .
At this point I turned back. Sorry guys . . .
How do i get there? Is it in the cemetary or on the outside of it?

ReplyDeleteI went there last night with 3 friends, we didnt go into the tunnel because it was pitch black and the girls were too scared but on the hike back up the trail it started getting creepy. We went back to the parking lot and we heard banging on the dumpsters. We were the only people there so it really freaked everyone out, then we heard what sounded to be like a womans scream from far off in the distance about 10 minutes later so we all just booked after that. Everyone was kind of freaked out afterwards.
ReplyDeleteIt's located on Palos verdes drive north at the back of the Covenent church. You go in through the church around to the back of the parking lot and there will be a trail that you will see a for a short 3 minute walk down where the tunnel is located.

ReplyDeleteHow do I get there ?
DeleteIt's located at about 26000 Western Ave. directly across the street from Redondela Dr. It is fenced off. If you Google Earth, you'll see a line of trees where the tunnel drains. The tunnel starts on the east side of Western Avenue and continues underneath Terraza {sp}, Avenida Feliciano, then skirts the border of Green Hills Cemetery , and ends at the base of the P.V. reservoir As you travel through, there are ducts that connect some manholes, but ultimately, the tunnel gets smaller. We made it all the way through at age 10, and now may be kind of awkward for adults. Lord forbid you were ever in the tunnel during a storm or the release of reservoir water. The Urban Legend (which I don't remember) was invented by the older kids of the neighborhood. In later years, especially when the neighboring Navy baseball field was in full swing, the city put a large metal grate over the entrance. It swung open at the bottom so it wasn't that hard to penetrate.
DeleteTYPER ONE THO
ReplyDeleteOTR OUT THERE RUNNIN
What beach does it end at?
ReplyDeleteIf anything, the drainage is dumped into L.A. Harbor
DeleteIt dosent end at the beach it end in the cemetery a small pond to be exact nothing happened when i have gone. Its easy to go in, no guards just park at the end of the church
ReplyDeleteThey have put up bars closing the entrance. We need to get the bars off so I can go back this summer.
